The Ministry of Consumer Affairs provides information for retailers, manufacturers, importers and service providers, to help achieve a fair and informed marketplace.

You have obligations under certain Acts. Information about your obligations under these Acts is explained in everyday language in this section. The Ministry of Consumer Affairs administers (i.e. monitors the operation of the Act and provides policy advice to Government) the following Acts:

The Ministry both administers and enforces the Weights and Measures Act 1987 and Weights and Measures Amendment Act 1991.
