Trading Standards (within Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment) supports responsible suppliers in recalling products which fall below quality or safety standards, or where a safety issue has been identified. We publish all notices that are brought to our attention and fall into the general category of product safety.

Trading Standards publishes the following notices for information purposes and cannot supply any additional information. The products may be regulated by other agencies and fall outside the scope of Trading Standards' activities. For more information about the products please use the contact details provided on the notice.

Shark Rocket Vacuum Cleaner Recall

Brand Developers Ltd is recalling a batch range of Shark Rocket (HV300NZ) vacuum cleaners. The power cord may be faulty and could burn you or give you an electric shock. Stop using your vacuum cleaner and switch off at the wall socket and unplug it. Contact the Shark Hotline to arrange for the cord and plug to be replaced free of charge. Heller 2000W Portable Room Heater

GFA Control Australia is recalling Heller branded 2000W portable fan heaters. The heaters could burn you or cause a fire. Affected heaters were sold at Bunnings stores nationally from April 2012 to November 2014. Stop using your heater, switch off and unplug from the wall socket. Return the heater to any Bunnings store for a full refund. See recall notice for more information. (April 2015)

Light Up Flashing Animal Ring

The Warehouse and Urban Leisure are recalling Light Up Flashing Animal Rings because the batteries may come loose. Button batteries pose choking hazards and a serious health risk if swallowed. Stop using your ring and contact return to any Warehouse store for a full refund. (April 2015)

Homemaker Hammock Recall

Kmart is recalling steel framed Homemaker brand hammocks because the fabric can fail and cause you to fall. Recalled hammocks were sold at Kmart stores nationally from August 2014 to March 2015. Stop using your hammock and return it to any Kmart store for a full refund. (March 2015)

Ozito 1800W Electric Garden Blower Recall

Ozito Industries is recalling several batches of its garden blowers. Affected blowers were sold at Bunnings stores nationwide. The fan can shatter and damage and expose you to sharp objects and live parts (electric shock). Stop using your blower, turn off and unplug it from the socket. Contact Ozito to arrange for a replacement or full refund. See recall notice for more information (March 2015)
