Trading Standards (within Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment) supports responsible suppliers in recalling products which fall below quality or safety standards, or where a safety issue has been identified. We publish all notices that are brought to our attention and fall into the general category of product safety.

Trading Standards publishes the following notices for information purposes and cannot supply any additional information. The products may be regulated by other agencies and fall outside the scope of Trading Standards' activities. Companion Brands, Portable Camping Butane Heater Recall

Gladiator Sports is recalling Companion Brands portable butane camping heaters because of used incorrectly they could cause carbon monoxide poisoning. Only use your heater outdoors. Stop using your heater if concerned and return to the place of purchase for a full refund. For more information see the recall notice.

Wedgwood Peter Rabbit Silver Plated Baby Rattle Recall

WWRD is recalling all Wedgwood Peter Rabbit Silver Plated Baby Rattles sold at Ballantynes, Kirkcaldie & Stains and Smith + Caughey stores, from April to December 2015. The rattles may release small parts which pose a choking hazard to young children. Keep the rattle away form young children and contact WWRD to arrange for return and replacement. The 1 2 3 Mart Toy Recall

The 123 Mart is recalling 5 toys sold at its 123 Mart, Dollar Store 123 and MAXOUT Stores. The toys were available from September 2011 to December 2015. The toys fail to meet the mandatory safety requirements and can release small parts. Small parts pose a choking hazard to young children. Stop use and either destroy and dispose of your toys or return them to your nearest store for a full refund. For more information and contact details see the recall notice. (December 2015)

Bosch PSS Series Orbital Sander Recall

Bosch is recalling all PSS series orbital sanders with serial numbers beginning 786XXXXXX to 788XXXXXX. A component in the sander could break and pose a projectile hazard and expose live parts. Stop using your sander and check to see if it affected. If affected contact Bosch for a free replacement sander. See recall notice for more information and contact details. (January 2016)

Microsoft Surface Pro, AC Power Cord Recall

Microsoft NZ is recalling the AC power cords supplied with the Microsoft Surface Pro, Surface Pro2 and Surface Pro 3 purchased before 15 July 2015. The cord may become damaged when wrapping the cord and can result in the cable overheating or exposing live wires. Stop using our AC power cord and contact Microsoft for a free replacement.
