Trading Standards (within Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment) supports responsible suppliers in recalling products which fall below quality or safety standards, or where a safety issue has been identified. We publish all notices that are brought to our attention and fall into the general category of product safety.

Trading Standards publishes the following notices for information purposes and cannot supply any additional information. The products may be regulated by other agencies and fall outside the scope of Trading Standards' activities. Mercury Diesel 3.0L TDI (Turbo Direct Injected) 230hp & 260hp Marine Engines

Marine Power International is recalling all Mercury Diesel 3.0L TDI marine engines from 2013 onwards. The turbocharger oil supply line may loosen and cause an oil leak, which has the potential to cause smoke and fire hazards. If your engine is one of the identified models, contact your Mercury Diesel dealer to arrange the engine to be inspected and fixed free of charge. See recall notice for more information. Grey Steel Canisters for ABS Avalanche Airbag Systems

Brandex is recalling grey steel canisters for ABS avalanche Airbag Systems with a fill date of 2 December 2014 or earlier. The canisters may be contaminated and not properly inflate the airbag or contaminate the airbag system and cause problems with future inflation. The recall also affects ABS Inside partner products. Do not use or activate your ABS avalanche airbag system. Contact Brandex is you have an affected cylinder or have activated the airbag with a contaminated cylinder. Latitude Milano Bench Seat Recall

Mitre 10 is recalling Latitude Milano Bench Seats sold from September 2013 to November 2014 because they may break. If the seat breaks, you could fall and get hurt. Stop using the seat and return it to any Mitre 10 or Mitre 10 Mega store for a full refund or replacement. See recall notice for more information. (December 2014)

Yamaha XT250 Recall

Yamaha is recalling certain 2013 to 2015 model XT250 motorcycles because the engine may stall, affecting your ability to control the bike. Contact Yamaha New Zealand to arrange for your bike to be fixed, free of charge. See recall notice for more information. (December 2014)

Lenovo IdeaPad AC Power Cord Recall

Lenovo is recalling the AC power cords supplied with IdeaPad laptops and as a replacement part between 1 February 2011 and 30 June 2012. The power cord can overheat and may burn you or cause a fire. Stop using your power cord, turn it off at the wall socket and unplug. Visit the Lenovo website to confirm if you power cord is affected and arrange a free replacement.
