Trading Standards (within Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment) supports responsible suppliers in recalling products which fall below quality or safety standards, or where a safety issue has been identified. We publish all notices that are brought to our attention and fall into the general category of product safety.

Trading Standards publishes the following notices for information purposes and cannot supply any additional information. The products may be regulated by other agencies and fall outside the scope of Trading Standards' activities. Shark Navigator Vacuum Cleaner Recall

Brand Developers Ltd is recalling all Shark Navigator Professional (NV356NZ) and a batch range of Shark Navigator Lift Away (NV350NZ) vacuum cleaners. The power cord may be faulty and could pose a risk of a burn and electric shock. Stop using your vacuum cleaner and contact the Shark Hotline to arrange for the cord to be replaced free of charge. Easy Step 4.1m Telescopic Ladder Recall

Easy Step Limited is recalling its 4.1m telescopic ladders because they do not comply with the stated safety standard. These ladders do not meet the stated load rating and have unapproved locking mechanisms. The ladders may cause or contribute to falls. Stop using your ladder and contact Easy Step to arrange for return and a full refund. See recall notice for more information. (February 2014)

Smiggle, Colour O’clock Cube Clock Recall

Smiggle is recalling Colour O’clock Cube Clocks sold in-store and online from 7 to 18 February 2015. The battery compartment is not secured and young children could choke and or swallow the batteries. Stop using the clock and return it to Smiggle for a refund, replacement or in-store refund. Kathmandu, Hand Torch Rechargeable 135 Recall

Kathmandu is recalling model 135 Rechargeable hand torches (item number 6154) sold since 1 August 2014. If the torch is charged with the battery around the wrong way it the cord may overheat and could start a fire. Stop using your torch and return it to your nearest Kathmandu store or contact customer service for a full refund. See recall notice for more information. (February 2015)
