Chain flail attachments for brushcutters

The Ministry of Consumer Affairs is aware that non-standard chain flail head attachments for brushcutters are being sold in New Zealand. These have been banned in the UK following a fatal accident.

The products are fitted to power heads which have not been designed for this type of attachment and have not been adequately tested to safety standards. The Ministry strongly recommends that these products are not used. Those who have purchased these products may have redress under the Consumer Guarantees Act.
