All Power - making the switch is now even easier
A word of advice on getting the best deal on power
23 April
Brrr… It’s definitely getting chilly. Now’s a good time to check you’re getting the best deal on your power. With some handy new features, it’s all rather easy at Powerswitch.
Consumer NZ has been busy making changes to the site to make it even simpler and more intuitive for you to use. Most of these changes were prompted by your comments.
Returning visitors will notice the updated look and feel of the questionnaire and results pages. There’s also more help, and a new error notification to guide you through the process.
The results-page table has been re-designed. It’s now even easier to scan the various plan options and compare prices. With energy retailers releasing more and more special offers and discounts, it was really important to show special terms and conditions more clearly.
Other upgrades include:
- Extra filter options that let you narrow down your results – for example, to only look at fixed-term plans available in your area.
- An expanded quick calculator to give those who use electricity and gas an idea of their savings.
- The Price Trend Graphs now let you select and de-select providers and compare them one by one.
Keep on checking Powerswitch for updated pricing, energy saving tips and new blog posts. Shopping around for electricity is the best way to keep prices down!
You can also sign up to receive regular email updates from Powerswitch for the latest news from the electricity and gas sector.
The quick calculator changes will also apply to the What's My Number website. What’s My Number is a joint campaign between the Electricity Authority, Ministry of Consumer Affairs and Consumer NZ. It encourages consumers to change electricity providers, if they are not getting the best deal on their power. This year’s campaign kicked off on Monday 16 April.
