1. Introduction
This report provides a summary of submissions
received on the effectiveness of the Supplier
Information Notice requirements as set out in
Schedules I and II of the Consumer Information
Standards (Used Motor Vehicles) Regulations.
The submissions were received following the
release of a discussion paper Review of the
Consumer Information Standards (Used Motor Vehicles)
Regulations 2003, in May 2006.
Seventeen submissions were received: A combined
submission from three main motor sales organisations
(Trade Associations); three from licensed motor
vehicle dealers (traders); five from government
agencies; two from consumer groups; and six
from other organisations and individuals, as
