Other Options

Other funding options were considered and included full funding by industry, full funding by government and the introduction of a levy. These three options were not proceeded with, as they did not reflect an appropriate allocation of costs given both the public and private good benefits of pattern approval and OIML membership. A levy was not feasible because there is no legislative provision that would enable a levy to be charged.
