Regulations will come into effect 28 days after they have been notified in the New Zealand Gazette. The regulations will apply to products manufactured or imported into New Zealand after 1 July 2008.
Discussion Question Prompts
The proposed timeline will give a minimum of five months lead-in time. Will this be sufficient for manufacturers, importers and retailers to make the necessary preparations?
Goods manufactured or imported before 1 July 2008 will not be required to adhere to the regulations. Is it acceptable that consumers will not be able to access water efficiency information for older products?
