I've sent money

What to do if you've sent money.

What should I do right now?

  • Contact your bank immediately to request assistance. They may be able to help you.
  • Electronic transfer: the bank may be able to cancel it if it has not yet been processed.
  • Cheque: ask the bank to load a "stop payment" on the cheque. This must be done before the scammer cashes it.
  • Wire service, such as Western Union: BE QUICK. Ask them to stop the transfer.
