Fraud Awareness Initiatives

Scams target you: protect yourself.

Fraud Awareness initiatives aim to raise awareness about how you can recognise and protect yourself from scams.

Fraud Awareness initiatives are undertaken internationally on an annual basis, in a number of countries around the world.

They are coordinated by agencies that belong to the International Consumer Prevention and Enforcement Network.

In New Zealand, Fraud Awareness core initiatives are coordinated by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs and the Commerce Commission, with strategic oversight and support from the Australasian Consumer Fraud Taskforce (ACFT).

The third Fraud Awareness initiative was Fraud Awareness Week 2008, from 3rd to 10th March, and information and resources could be accessed from late February.

Information about Earlier Fraud Awareness Initiatives are also available.
