Report Your Scam Story

Scamwatch

Have you been scammed?

Scammers target people of all backgrounds, ages and income levels. There is no group of people who are more likely to become a victim of a scam.

The Ministry of Consumer Affairs is interested in receiving stories from people who have been scammed so that we can share this information with other New Zealanders via our Scamwatch website.  By sharing these stories we hope to prevent other people from losing money through the same types of scams.

If you would like to share your story, you can report a scam to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs.  We will treat your email confidentially and remove your personal details before posting your story on our site.  However, please ensure you provide complete details of the scam, how much money you have lost, and your contact details (these will only be used if we need to verify any information, they will remain confidential).
